Here is some important information that you will need to know heading into summer training:
Right now through the end of May:
Zone training is offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-4:30. It is FREE training and Brian Jackson has been doing a terrific job with these sessions. Last year we so fewer injuries overall in all of our sports and a significant reduction in stress fractures and shin splints.
June 6-9:
Elementary/ Middle School Volleyball camp. Please let me know if you can help with camp- it is a great time to work on those leadership/mentoring skills AND earn SALT hours. (if you work every day, both sessions you can be done with your SALT hours for the year!) Camp hours are 7:30-11:30
Starting June 6th:
We will begin ZONE training and open gyms. We will meet every Monday and Wednesday from 9:00-12:00. ZONE training will be from 9:00-10:00 and open gym from 10:00-12:00. (during camp week, we will still participate in ZONE training and have open gym from 11:30-12:30). These practice times are not mandatory but we would love to have you there for as many as possible. We use this time to work primarily on individual skills and transition work.
Moratorium Week:
This year we have two Moratorium weeks (weeks where we do not practice). The weeks will be July 4-8 and July 25-29.
Mandatory Pre-season begins:
Pre-season begins on Monday, August 1st. These practices are mandatory and any absences would be considered unexcused. Please keep in mind that an athlete MUST have 10 practices (one per day counts) in before they can compete in their first match.
Physicals:
Please remember that every high school athlete MUST have a new physical dated after May 1st, 2011 to be eligible to start pre-season.
