Congratulations to Maddie Anderson who signed with Cedarville Univeristy! Maddie will join former teammates Stephanie Rogers and Kelsey Christiansen on the Yellowjackets roster.

MCCGSA All-City Team announced

Maddie Anderson and Liz Stratman were named to the

Marion County Coaches of Girls Sports Association All-City Team.

Academic All-State announced

Congratulations to Sarah Sternasty for being named to the ICGSA 1st Team Academic All-State team. Maddie Anderson, Abbe Huffer and Shelby Bradford were named to the ICGSA Academic All-State Honorable Mention team. We are proud of your hard work in the classroom and for obtaining your goals on and off the court this season!

Regional Champions!

Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball Team for bringing home the first Regional Championship in school history for volleyball. The team defeated Hauser High School in an exciting match winning by scores of 25-21, 25-22, 27-25. In game three the team came back after being down 14-20 for the most exciting come back of the year. The team now moves on to Semi-State at Columbus North against Muncie Burris at 12:15 on Saturday. We can't put into words how proud we are of this group of girls and what they bring to the court everyday!

Senior Night!

Thursday night we celebrated our 8 amazing seniors! These young women have been incredible leaders on this team and have made a huge impact on our program over the last 4 years. We are so excited to see what God has laid out for them in the next few years because we know they will accomplish great things for Him. Maddie, Abbe, Toni, Emily, Shelby, Liz, Hannah and Sarah- we love you and are so proud of you!

Heritage wins Eagle Invitational

Congratulations to the Varsity team for winning the Heritage Eagle Invitational Saturday. The Eagles swept Marion and Park Tudor in three sets each to claim the win. Liz Stratman had 27 kills and 7 blocks, Maddie Anderson had 56 assists and 7 service aces and Abbe Huffer added 19 kills and 19 digs. Way to Eagles!

City Tournament Pairings

City Tournament matches:

JV will play the winner of Covenant Christian and Scecina on Tuesday, October 5th at 5:30 at Heritage. Varsity will play the winner of Covenant and Scecina as well starting at the conclusion of the JV match.

Should both teams win Tuesday night- JV would play at Chatard (if they win Tuesday night) on Wednesday night at 6:00, Varsity would play Chatard at Broad Ripple at 6:00 on Wednesday night (if Chatard wins Tuesday night).

Finals will be held on Thursday evening at Broad Ripple High School for both JV and Varsity beginning at 6:00.

Heritage Digs Pink With Lutheran

Tuesday night Heritage Christian and Lutheran High School came together to honor those that have been affected by Breast Cancer in thier lives. Many of those honored could not be with us in attendance like Payton Swan's grandmother and Coach York's mother was remembered in memoriam. All proceeds from the Lutheran Concession stand were donated to the Dig Pink Foundation which gives all funds raised to help in finding a cure for breast cancer. Thanks for coming out and supporting this effort! Congratulations to both the JV and Varsity teams in their wins over Lutheran!

Bake Sale A Success!

We did it again! This year's bake sale was another huge success and we certianly couldn't have done it without your help. The team made over $1000.00 which was our goal and all of the girls had a great time together. Way to go team!!

Important Information

Hello Everyone,
Below are a few items that we wanted to share with you about the next few weeks:

1. Bake Sale on Friday night: This is our only fundraiser that we do all year so therefore it is very important to our program. Please plan on taking part by providing home baked goods. Coach Jac provided each player last night with a detailed flyer about the event and some ideas of what to send in. You can bring them in anytime on Friday or send them in with your daughter Friday morning to school.
2. Spiritwear: Some of you have asked about some spiritwear or about purchasing one of our team t-shirts. Spiritwear forms will be available even as early as Friday night at the football game for you to order other items than the practice tee. If you are interested in ordering one of our practice t-shirts please respond to this email with size and quantity and I will be back in touch about payment. T-shirts are $15.00 each.
3. Photo CD’s of your daughter’s games will be offered by Malana Harpst. You can contact Malana and let you her know if you are interested. She also has some REALLY cute volleyball jewelry that she sales if you are interested in that as well.
4. Tournaments: Our Varsity Team will be participating in its first tournament of the season at Lawrence Central this Saturday Aug. 28th. For this tournament the J.V. Team will also travel and help with equipment, stats, video etc. Our Freshman team will remain on campus to practice from 9:00am to 11:00am. The traveling teams will depart campus promptly at 8:00am and are scheduled to play their first game at 9:00am. Our Freshman team have their “team moms” in place, however we are still in need of a minimum of 2 to 3 parents from both J.V & Varsity to volunteer as team parents. (Mrs. Sternasty has volunteered to be the concessions mom) For this Saturdays tournament the girls will need plenty of healthy snacks ie: fruit, cheese sticks, peanut butter crackers, granola bars, as well as sport drinks and water. Please consider how you may best fulfill our need for team parents and let coach Jac* know a.s.a.p. via e-mail @ treblotjac@aol.com so that she can work with you to cover the seasons tournament needs. We will need to act fast for this Saturdays tournament!!!!
5. Bishop Chatard: Please note again that we are playing Bishop Chatard on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Everyone is expected to be there.
6. Alex Smith named Pre-season All-GSC

Congratulations to Alex Smith for being named to the pre-season All-Gulf South Conference team for Harding University. Alex was a 2008 graduate of Heritage, was a two time All-State volleyball player and named Female Athlete of the Year. You can read the entire press release here. We are proud of you Alex!

It is truly hard to believe that we are ready to begin the 2010 season! On Monday morning, August 2nd we will begin the journey to become the best we can be as a team and individually.

Heritage Volleyball players receive national recognition

Three Heritage Volleyball players received national recognition from the NCSAA and were named to the All-American team and Super Regional team. Stephanie Rogers was named 2nd Team All-American, Maddie Anderson was named 3rd Team All-American and Kelsey Christiansen, Stephanie Rogers and Maddie Anderson were all named to the Northeast Super Regional Team. Congratulations girls- we are proud of you!
