Hornback Named to AVCA Division II All-East Region Team
Today at 4:30pmLEXINGTON, Ky. – Holy Family University outside hitter Katie Hornback (so. Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) was named to the 2009 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II All-East Region team on Tuesday. Hornback is the on the team for the second time in her career. Last season, she was tabbed as an honorable mention selection. She is the only player to make the team from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Earlier this year, she was named to the All-CACC second team and to the CACC All-Tournament team. Hornback led the Tigers in kills (340) and service aces (55). She finished third in the CACC in service aces and seventh in service aces per set (0.43). At Holy Family, She is fourth on the single season kills list and tied for seventh on the single season service aces list. After two years, Hornback second in school history in kills (652) and tied for eighth in career service aces (90). Holy Family ended its season with an overall record of 14-22. The Tigers qualified for the CACC Championship Tournament for the third season in a row.
