Hornback named All-Region

Hornback Named to AVCA Division II All-East Region Team
Today at 4:30pmLEXINGTON, Ky. – Holy Family University outside hitter Katie Hornback (so. Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) was named to the 2009 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II All-East Region team on Tuesday. Hornback is the on the team for the second time in her career. Last season, she was tabbed as an honorable mention selection. She is the only player to make the team from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Earlier this year, she was named to the All-CACC second team and to the CACC All-Tournament team. Hornback led the Tigers in kills (340) and service aces (55). She finished third in the CACC in service aces and seventh in service aces per set (0.43). At Holy Family, She is fourth on the single season kills list and tied for seventh on the single season service aces list. After two years, Hornback second in school history in kills (652) and tied for eighth in career service aces (90). Holy Family ended its season with an overall record of 14-22. The Tigers qualified for the CACC Championship Tournament for the third season in a row.

Hornback does it again...


Hornback Named to the All-CACC Women’s Volleyball Team and All-Tournament Team (11/14/2009) NEW HAVEN, Conn.

Holy Family University (Philadelphia, PA) outside hitter Katie Hornback (so. Indianapolis, Ind. /Heritage Christian) was named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women’s volleyball team on Wednesday and was named to the All-Tournament team today.Hornback has continued to add to her career accolades. Hornback is tabbed for the All-CACC second team this season. Hornback again led the Tigers this season in kills (340). She also led in service aces (55) and was third on the team for total blocks (45). She is second in the CACC in service aces. She is fourth on the Holy Family single season kills list and tied for seventh on the single season service aces list. Hornback was also honored this season as a CACC player of the week. After just two seasons, Hornback is already second in school history in career kills (652) and tied for eighth in career service aces (90). Last season, Hornback was an All-CACC first team selection as well as the CACC Rookie of the Year after setting a conference record being named rookie player of the week five times in a single season. She was also named to the 2008 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II All-East team as an honorable mention selection.
